Owing to clashes between life and art, the Bass Pixie Paul Upton has moved on to pastures new.

His distinctive style, not only in making music, lent Backburner an air of casual professionalism and fun that injected the band with power and enthusiasm throughout the first 18 months of its existence, and we thank him sincerely for those gifts.

We wish him nothing but the best, and trust that the Mighty Weapon Grunknorr shall not sleep in his hand, but shall rise again to cleave the air in twain, as is its wont...
